Everest Region

To be close with Mount Everest, you must spend at least four nights above 4,000 meters and at least around 5,000 meters. At these altitudes, there is a serious risk of acute mountain sickness (AMS). Mount Everest is also the coldest place on the main trekking trip, so you need a good sleeping bag, several layers of warm clothing and sturdy boots to avoid snow.
