Annapurna Base Camp Trek – Trip Overview

Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal. Lying in Nepal’s most popular region, Annapurna Region, the base camp is situated at an altitude of 4,130 meters. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a short and comforting trek in comparison to other higher elevation treks, offering lots of opportunities for exploring, experiencing, and enjoying, the mystical world of the Himalayas.

After you arrive in Kathmandu, you will be driven to Pokhara and then to Nayapul. From Nayapul, your trek begins passing through Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Poon Hill, Tadapani, Chhomrong, Himalayan Hotel, Macchapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), and then you finally reach Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). After this, you trek down to Bamboo, Jhinu Danda until finally reaching Nayapul from where you will be driven to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu. The whole trek is completed within 13 days. The trekking trail takes you through the beautiful Rhododendron forests, native Gurung villages, diverse flora and fauna, higher elevated wondering landscapes with amazing views of Annapurna Range and cascading waterfalls. You can capture 360-degree views of Annapurna ranges, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and Macchapuchhre from the base camp of the peak.

ABC Trek provides a tour of picturesque landscape. The trail to Annapurna Base Camp Trek also passes through the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) which is a rich storehouse of Himalayan biodiversity. Along the ABC Trek trails, you will encounter a mix of ethnic groups, especially the Gurung. Likewise, in this trek, you get to cover not one but two base camps at the cost of one. Passing MBC and ABC makes for an absolutely rare experience.

February to Mid-June and September to November are the best time for this trek, although the trek can be done any time of the year. You will need two types of permits to undertake this trek which is the Trekkers’ Information Management Systems (TIMS) and ACAP Permit. TIMS cost USD 20 per person for individual tourists and USD 10 per person if group trekking. ACAP permit cost USD 30 per person. This is a moderate grade trek so as long as you are a reasonable fit, a person without prior experience can also tackle the trek.

Himalayan Adventure Treks will provide necessary guidelines about major factors about this trip for making your journey adventurous. We will manage the necessary porters and guides for you for more exploration. You don’t have to worry about any logistical hassle because we take care of it all.
