Flabbergasting Sermon of Buddhish Culture : Om Mani Padme Hum

Every tourist feel comfortable when they will be occupied by melody  Om Mani Padme Hum .If you have been to a Buddhist monastery or stupa, you might have heard this mantra being chanted: Om Mani Padme Hum which make the people full sense of peace and enlighten .  It is the most known and oldest Buddhist mantra, which evens the tourist, can recite easily.

The mantra has six-syllable with Sanskrit flavor which is originated in India. Even you can see in Himalayan region during the trek, which is carved on rocks in Tibetan words. It is also written on prayer wheels and on papers, which are inserted in the wheels while people spin the prayer wheels, and then it is same as chanting the mantra.

The mantra has been carried all the essence of Buddhism .The teaching of the Buddhism has been carried by this mantra. this mantra contains all the teachings of Buddha. Therefore, it cannot be translated into a simple phrase. However, if each word is translated literally, the mantra means, “Praise to the Jewel in the Lotus”.

There are the various interpretations on this mantra variously. The most common interpretation like this. “Each syllable corresponds to one of the six realms of existence and purifies the vice associated with that realm:

Om purifies bliss and pride (realm of the gods); Ma purifies jealousy and need for entertainment (realm of the jealous gods); Ni purifies passion and desire (human realm); Pad purifies ignorance and prejudice (animal realm); me purifies greed and possessiveness (realm of the hungry ghosts); Hum purifies aggression and hatred (hell realm)”.

So this is a golden way to learn some Nepalese words for the tourist easily.
