The federal budget presented by Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada on Tuesday, 29th May, 2018 announced the launch of Visit Nepal year 2020 with the goal of attracting 2 million foreign tourists in to the country yearly.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) had planned to organize ‘Visit Nepal Year’ in 2020 to attract more tourists to the country with aim to create more employment opportunities in the country that is supportive towards the journey of prosperity of the country already and now, the government has put budget for the campaign and have more concrete plan to meet the goal of bringing 2 million tourist in the year.
Nepal had similar types of event in 1998 and 2011 as well and as “Visit Nepal 1998” and “Nepal Tourism Year 2011” and these campaigns was grandly successful. So, private sectors of tourism of Nepal are hopeful and happy to welcome more tourists and offer many tourism activities to make tourist holidays in Nepal more memorable.
